Looks like September has been a record month for Escorts Kubota Limited. The company sold 18,267 tractors, which is apparently their highest-ever monthly tally. Just to put it in perspective, last September they sold 12,380 tractors, so we are talking about a jump of nearly 48 percent. Domestic sales were the real engine here clocking in at 17,803 tractors, up from 11,985 the previous year.

The tractor market itself seems to be on a roll lately. Farmers are seeing favourable conditions, monsoon rains were better than usual and fairly spread out, water reservoirs are in good shape and the festive season seems to have started a bit earlier than normal. The GST cut on tractors and farm machinery has definitely given buyers a reason to open their wallets. Even exports saw some movement with 464 tractors going out, compared to 395 last year.

Escorts Kubota has been around for eight decades. They are into all sorts of machinery, not just tractors, and their footprint extends into construction equipment as well. Their focus on engineering and market-friendly technologies seems to pay off.

Looking ahead, if the weather stays cooperative and government incentives keep coming, the next few months could be even better. The industry is expecting stronger demand, so we might just see another record broken before the year ends.
