International Tractors Limited, under its Solis brand, has launched the JP 975 tractor as the first model in the company's JP series targeted at Indian agriculture. The JP 975 targets the "Viksit Kisan" or progressive farmer segment in India.
It comes fitted with the JP Tech 4-cylinder engine, capable of yielding up to 205 Nm of torque, representing a 10 percent increase compared to similar models. The engine is designed for heavy-duty operations while managing to be economic in nature for long and continuous use.
The JP 975 is powered with a 15F+5R Epicyclic Transmission, claimed to be the first in its class in India. The transmission contains side-shift gears, providing at least five working speeds suitable for different agricultural purposes.
The tractor also features a Smart Shuttle system for directional changes during field and loader tasks. Its ladder-type chassis contributes to a reduction in vibration and noise, enhancing comfort for operators during long operations.
Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director of International Tractors Limited, said the launch marks a step in introducing new tractor technologies to Indian farmers. He added that more models on the JP platform would be released over the coming 12 months.
Solis remains India’s leading tractor export brand. The JP 975 launch forms part of the company’s planned domestic product introductions.
