In 1949, Eicher GoodEarth was set up in India with a technical collaboration with Gebr. Eicher of Germany imported and sold about 1500 tractors in India. On 24 April 1959 Eicher came out with the first locally assembled tractor from its Faridabad factory and in a period from 1965 to 1974 became the first fully manufactured (100% indigenization) tractor in India. In December 1987 Eicher Tractors went public and in June 2005 Eicher Motors Limited sold Eicher Tractors &amp; Engines to a subsidiary of TAFE called TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited.

Farmtrac tractors are built in India by the Escorts Group (Escorts Agri) for sale in India and Poland. It is one of three brands built by Escorts Agri. The other brands are Escort and Powertrac. The Eicher 380 sources its power from a 2,500 three-cylinder Simpson water-cooled diesel engine, which produces a maximum power output of 40 hp @ 2,150 rpm. The tractor comes equipped with a centre shift transmission unit comprising eight forward and two reverse gears. The Eicher 380 claims a top speed of 30.84 kmph with the forward gears.

The Eicher 380 comes with a 2,500 three-cylinder diesel engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 40 hp. The transmission unit on duty comprises eight forward gears and two reverse gears. 

While the Eicher 380 comes standard with mechanical steering, you can also opt for a power steering setup for an additional cost. The Eicher 380 has draft, position and response control links fitted with CAT-2 (Combi Ball) controls. The tractor also comes with sealed dry disc brakes, though you have the option of getting multi-disc oil immersed brakes. An auxiliary pump with a spool valve is offered as an optional feature in the Eicher 380.
