Escorts Kubota Limited has announced the launch of the Kubota MU4201 tractor in India on August 25, 2025. This marks the company’s entry into the 41–44 HP tractor segment under the Kubota brand. The tractor has been designed in Japan and tailored for Indian farming conditions, making it suitable for applications such as haulage, rotavators and disc harrows.
The move allows Escorts Kubota to tap into the 41–50 HP market, which contributes nearly 60 to 64 percent of the domestic tractor market in India.
The new Kubota tractor comes with several features usually reserved for higher horsepower categories. The MU4201 offers a flat deck, suspended pedals, balancer shaft, synchromesh transmission and a dual clutch. Escorts Kubota believes these additions will deliver comfort, durability and efficiency for farmers who need versatile machines for field operations.
The Kubota MU4201 tractor price has not been revealed yet. However, the company is clearly aiming to position it as a premium choice in the 41–44 HP range.
Escorts Kubota has also introduced upgraded versions of its MU4501 and MU5502 models. Both now feature a newly developed ‘Pompa Lift’ hydraulic system based on Japanese lift technology. With a lifting capacity of 1640 to 2100 kg and a lift height of 455 mm, the company says the system is among the best in its category.
Nikhil Nanda, Chairman & Managing Director, said:
“The new product launches are in-line with our vision to establish ourselves as a formidable player in the domestic tractor market, by bringing engineering excellence, cutting-edge technology and high-quality features in our product offerings.”
Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, added:
“The new products are targeted at the 41–50 HP segment in India, which today constitutes about 60–64% of the total domestic market. The new MU-4201 is designed for the farmer looking for premium features across diverse agricultural applications, including for haulage.”
G S Grewal, Chief Operating Officer, Tractor Business Division, highlighted the company’s regional focus:
“We plan to introduce the tractor across India, and especially strengthen our existing market position in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.”
With the MU4201 joining the lineup, along with the upgraded MU4501 and MU5502, Escorts Kubota has broadened its offering in the most competitive horsepower segment. These new commercial vehicles complement its Farmtrac and Powertrac brands and strengthen its presence in the mid-range tractor market, which remains central to India’s agriculture sector.
