In January 2026, Escorts Kubota Limited noticed a significant increase in the sales volume of tractors. The Agri Machinery Business Division of the company sold 9,799 tractors, registering a 46.9% increase in sales from the previous year.

The domestic sales also contributed to the increase in sales, which increased to 9,137 units, registering a 50.8% increase from the previous year. This was attributed to factors such as the increase in agricultural activities due to rabi sowing, improved water availability, and government incentives that lowered the cost of ownership for customers.

The export sales also increased. In January 2026, the company exported 662 units of tractors to foreign countries, registering an 8.3% increase from January 2025.

For the first ten months of the financial year (April 2025 to January 2026), the total sales of tractors were 1,11,212 units, registering a 16.3% increase from the previous year. On the other hand, the company’s Construction Equipment Business Division experienced a marginal decline in January 2026. The sales of construction equipment registered 524 units, registering a 3.7% decline from January 2025 due to the sluggish market.

The early signs of the market stabilizing have been observed in the construction equipment segment, which is expected to pick up with the rise in project implementation and government spending.

Industry analysts have stated that the increased sales of tractors are a sign of the overall revival of the agricultural machinery industry in India. Weather conditions, government taxation policies, and subsidies have contributed to the revival.

The sales data of January 2026 shows that home sales are still the driving force and exports are still a moderate contributor. The sales of construction equipment are still low, but there is a chance of improvement in this sector.
