It sources its power from a unique single-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine, with which the Eicher 242 claims a peak power output of 25 bhp and a top speed of 27.61 kmph. The tractor comes equipped with sealed dry disc brakes as standard (optional oil-immersed brakes available) and has a lifting capacity of 1220 kg.&nbsp;

Available in a single shade of red, the Eicher 242 is being offered in two different variants. The entry-level variant is available with mechanical steering and is one of the most affordable tractors one can buy at Rs 4.05 lakh. The slightly more-premium variant, which comes with power steering as standard, is priced at Rs 4.40 lakh.

The Eicher 242 is powered by a unique single-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine, which makes it one of the very few tractors to be powered by a single-cylinder engine in the world. This engine is paired with a transmission unit comprising 8 forward and 2 reverse gears and produces a maximum power output of 25 bhp. Eicher claims a top speed of 27.61 kmph for the 242 tractors, while it gets basic air cooling for keeping the engine cool at high operating temperatures. The Eicher 242 comes with a single clutch as standard for the transmission.

The Eicher 242 is one of the very few tractors in the world which are available with a single-cylinder engine. The 1.5-litre diesel engine of the Eicher 242, which produces a maximum power output of 25 bhp, enables the tractor to attain a top speed of 27.61 kmph.Â 

Riding on 6.00x16 front and 12.4x28 rear tyres, the Eicher 242 is equipped with a PTO, which generates 21.3 bhp. This PTO gets a twenty-one spline shaft and can operate at a maximum speed of 1000 rpm. The Eicher 242 also claims a lifting capacity of 1220 kg and comes with a sealed setup for the dry disc brakes. However, for an extra premium, one can get the tractor equipped with oil-immersed brakes. The Eicher 242 measures 3155mm long, 1630mm wide and 2030mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 1880mm and a kerb weight of 1710 kg.&nbsp;
