Mahindra launches 7 lightweight OJA 4WD tractors for Indian farmers

Mahindra Tractors, a unit of the Mahindra Group launched the Mahindra OJA tractor range on August 15. The launch took place in an event, Futurescape, held in Capetown, South Africa.

The new OJA range, the company said brings about a transformative shift in Light Weight Compact 4 wheel drive (WD) Tractor design and engineering. The seven models launched are based on three technology packs which are MYOJA (intelligence pack), PROJA (productivity pack), and ROBOJA (automation pack).

Mahindra launched the new tractors on 3 OJA platforms - – the Sub Compact, Compact, and Small Utility platforms suitable for diverse market needs. These models range from 20HP – 40HP (14.91kW – 29.82kW).

The newly launched models are OJA 2121, OJA 2124, OJA 2127, OJA 2130, OJA 3132, OJA 3136, and OJA 3140. OJA 2127 has been launched at a price (Ex. Pune) of INR 5,64,500 and OJA 3140 has been launched at Rs. 7,35,000 (Ex. Pune).

The new OJA range has been developed by the engineering teams of Mahindra Research Valley in India, the R&D centre for Mahindra AFS and Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery in Japan. The total investment in the project was Rs 1,200 crore ($145 million).

The OJA range will subsequently be launched in North America, ASEAN, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Europe, and the SAARC region. Mahindra will also mark its debut in the ASEAN region starting with Thailand in 2024.
