TAFE showcased the EVX75 electric-hybrid tractor for the first time at Agritechnica 2025 in Hanover, Germany, marking an important milestone in sustainable mechanization for the farming industry.
The EVX75 model combines a 75 HP hybrid powertrain, with an EU Stage V diesel engine and a 400 V electric battery system, which enables operation in fully zero-emission electric mode as well as hybrid mode for more demanding fieldwork. Moreover, the liquid-cooled high-voltage system, three-speed transmission with top speed of 40 km/h, full HVAC cabin, electro-hydraulic rear-lift, and independent PTO further emphasize the tractor's readiness for advanced and efficient agricultural operations.
In addition to the EVX75, TAFE introduced three new product ranges up to 100 HP: the 103 HP TAFE 1015 utilising EU Stage V engine with 30 F + 15 R power-shuttle transmission and 4,000 kg lift capacity, the 65 HP TAFE 6065 Compact Series offering hydrostatic or mechanical shuttle transmission variants, and the 74 HP TAFE 7515 GE designed for orchard and vineyard use in hilly terrain.
TAFE also introduced the “Terra 2.0” platform with a built-in vision-based guidance system, “Terra Vista”, within one digital ecosystem, marking its movement from traditional tractor manufacturer to full farm-solutions provider.
Company leadership marks the sub-100 HP segment's strategic importance as the "largest volume category in the world". The company thus aims at global leadership in that segment. This assertion is in keeping with its philosophy of "Cultivating the World". Meanwhile, TAFE leadership reflected on the company's 65-year legacy of engineering excellence, reliability and global reach, with presence in over 80 countries.
The EVX75 launch comes as TAFE is pushing further into European markets, having entered with EU Stage V, electric and concept hydrogen tractors in 2023, establishing a significant dealer network in more than 20 countries.
Industry observers say the TAFE hybrid tractor move is a pointer to the larger trend in the Indian agricultural-machinery sector, with increasing focus on electrification, automation, and alternate-energy solutions to support sustainable farming. This is in line with investments that TAFE has made in precision farming and smart agri-tech, while also collaborating with start-ups and academic ecosystems.
For the Indian market, the introduction of a hybrid 75 HP tractor-specifically one that can switch to zero-emission electric mode-would have meaningful implications in zones with stringent emissions norms or as operators seek alternatives with lower fuel consumption. Specifics in terms of the model's Indian-market specifications and pricing were not disclosed in the announcement, but the model's European rollout does suggest global ambitions.
